Hey everyone,
I’m a Kathak student based in London, and I’m incredibly grateful to share that I’ve been selected as one of Pagrav Dance Company’s Micro-Commission 2025 awardees to begin developing a new dance piece titled “Take My Hand.”
This piece is rooted in a poem I wrote—an emotional reflection on the light and dark we all carry within. “Take My Hand” is more than just a poem; it’s a heartbeat turned into movement, a story of emotional struggle and the healing power of human connection. The dance brings this story to life, exploring the delicate balance of yin and yang, and the natural elements (air, fire, and water) through poetry, breath, and body.
I’ll be working with a wonderful team of dancers to bring this vision into form. While Pagrav’s support offers an incredible platform and in-kind resources, we’re currently short on funds to properly pay the artists involved, who are generously dedicating their time, heart, and creativity to this project.
If you’re able to support, however big or small, your contribution will go directly toward artist and collaborator fees, helping us make this work possible in the way it truly deserves.
The piece will be shared as part of Pagrav’s “Utsav” event on Sunday 6 July in London, alongside other newly commissioned works. If you’d like to come watch us perform, please book your tickets here:
Thank you so much for reading, supporting, or simply cheering us on from afar.
Warm regards,
Sanjanaa Jeevandass
