Hi, my name is Taj, and a few words changed my entire world:

“You have breast cancer.”

At 38, I was finally starting to find my footing

again — rebuilding life after divorce, caring for my two amazing kids (ages 15 and 7), and learning how to stand strong on my own. Then came this diagnosis… and everything shifted overnight.

I’m now preparing for surgery — the first of at least two major procedures — and a long road to healing ahead. The months (and likely years) to come will bring physical, emotional, and financial challenges I never imagined facing. But I’m determined to walk this journey with faith, grace, and hope.

There are days when the weight of it all feels like too much — the fear, the anxiety, the “what ifs.” Still, I remind myself that I don’t have to face this battle alone. I have my children, my loved ones, and a community of people with the power to lift us through love and kindness.

Right now, my biggest goal is to keep life as steady and normal as possible for my kids — to protect their joy and sense of security while navigating this uncertain season. But the financial burden is heavy: from medical bills and treatment costs to time off work and keeping up with everyday living expenses.
