On Friday July 11th, Tait , a passionate 19 year-old-avid outdoorsman and hunter, experienced a serious accident when the strap on his tree-stand gave way, causing him to fall backwards from a significant height. He suffered a fractured L1 vertebrae along with bruising on his spinal cord, which has resulted in numbness in his waist region.

We are so incredibly thankful that, despite the severity of the fall, many things went right. Tait was conscious and able to find his phone to call for help. Thanks to the fast response from EMS and the care he received at Perham Health, he was quickly transferred to Fargo for specialized treatment.

Tait's spinal cord was not severed — a huge blessing — and he retains feeling in his toes and feet. These are the small victories we're holding onto.

That night, Tait underwent a long and complex surgery. Rods were placed to stabilize the damaged vertebrae, and surgeons worked carefully to relieve pressure on the spinal cord. While the road ahead will involve healing and rehabilitation, we’re filled with hope and gratitude.

Due to the severity of Tait's injuries, it was decided that an extended rehabilitation stay at Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado would be very beneficial to his healing process. Monday July 21st, Tait was transferred to start the next phase of his journey. Those of you that know Tait personally understand how strong and determined he is. Everyone believes that if anyone can be resilient and conquer each obstacle, it's him.

As they adjust to the unexpected medical and recovery costs, we’re asking for support from friends, family, and generous individuals who feel moved by Tait’s story. Contributions will go towards:

Hospital bills and rehabilitation expenses

Mobility and recovery equipment

Travel and time away from work

Any future surgeries or therapies needed

Every donation, prayer, and message means the world to them. They are taking this one day at a time — and with your help, they know they won’t have to walk this path alone. It's against Tait's kind hearted nature to ask for help, but it's our hope that we can give him back a little bit of what he so often does for others.
