Help Tail Waggers Recover After Devastating Flood
Tail Waggers of Livonia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization has provided affordable, preventative veterinary care to our community for over 35 years. Today, we are facing a devastating and unexpected emergency — and we need help immediately.
Late Sunday evening, Founder Laura Kuchinski came to the clinic to check on our resident cats and discovered that our entire Wellness Center was flooded.
What Happened:
Approximately 2–3 inches of sewage water covered nearly our entire clinic, including:
Both bathrooms
Hallways
Two exam rooms
Triage and reception area
Two administrative offices
The main waiting room was hit the hardest
Plumbers ran a snake over 105 feet into the MAIN sanitary line, finally clearing a major blockage around the 80-foot mark. This blockage was not caused by our internal plumbing, but it impacted our entire clinic.
The Immediate Impact:
All appointments were canceled Monday, resulting in over $3,000 in lost revenue!
ServPro Livonia has begun drying, sanitizing, and assessing restoration needs. During restoration, our doors may need to remain closed for safety.
Closed doors mean zero revenue, while rent, utilities, payroll, and operating expenses continue
The possibility of losing the clinic we have called home for six years is frightening and very real.
Our Office Cats Were Affected Too
Because the flood involved sewage water, seven cat trees and multiple cat beds were destroyed and had to be thrown away. These were daily comfort items for our resident cats, and losing them has been heartbreaking.
