Hey friends, I’m Synclaire and will be getting top surgery in the next few months. Between being nonbinary and unable to get desired results with a binder and testosterone alone and a family history of breast cancer, top surgery has been a goal of mine for a few years now.

This has been a really difficult year for me health-wise, and my initial plan to work extra to cover the costs of travel, surgery, and expenses while off work was sidetracked trying to stay afloat with healthcare costs to survive this past year. I don’t want to risk my health declining past the point of eligibility, so getting surgery now is my best bet at receiving this gender-affirming care.

I will be having surgery in Columbus, Ohio, and will need to spend about a week there after surgery, and I’ll be taking 3-4 weeks off work to recover. Additionally, I’ll have some surgical costs not covered by insurance to get the results that I’m wanting.
