Support Synergy Lab's First Photo Expo
Donation protected
Hello there,
I am seeking additional funds for the first ever Synergy Lab Photo Expo. The Synergy Lab is a print lab that supplies art students of Appalachian State University in Boone,NC with affordable, quality prints. Any upside that we make is invested in supporting students with their vision. Hopefully this exhibition is the first of many. I want to create an exhibition that isn't cost prohibitive and supports their future as a educator, professional artist and/or graduate student.
Regarding the show:
Since the late 1880's, photography has become increasingly democratic and ubiquitous. While the sharing of photographs no longer requires physical presence, all things come with a cost. We are losing more of our photographs than ever due to expiring technologies. The physical photograph is a method of preserving it's content, method of manufacture and communal experience. The goal of this exhibition is to give the photographers of App State an opportunity to be juried by a well-respected curator, exhibit the work they are proud of with quality materials, while alleviating some of the financial burden of doing so. The Synergy Lab is proud to bring this exhibition to fruition with the help of Dennis Kiel, Red River Paper and The Looking Glass Gallery.
Any amount is a generous contribution and your generosity is not lost to me. The Synergy Lab doesn't intend to make anything off of students, but invest its revenue back into students via awards and exhibitions.
The print is a crucial part of photography and it has never been easier to skip it. Thank you for your time.
