Support the Vision for ASD-Inclusive Education

Hello, my name is Sylika J. Camacho-Irshad, and I am the founder of Potter's Touch Knowledge Center (PTKC). I’m an experienced educator with a BA in Africana Studies, an MS in Instructional Design & Technology, and currently completing an MS in Psychology with a focus on Applied Behavioral Analysis. With 12 years in education, my passion lies in teaching math, where I’ve leveraged my kinesthetic learning style to create an engaging, hands-on learning environment for all school students. My innovative approach is influenced by my background in finance and liberal arts allowing me to facilitate rather than lecture, fostering a love for learning for all. My ultimate goal is to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and open an inclusive school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, driven by my commitment to improving educational outcomes and learning accessible and enjoyable for all students.

Currently, I run a small homeschool group that has doubled in the past year. We are now seeking a larger space to accommodate our expanding community. Our long-term goal is to build a dedicated school campus that will provide a comprehensive and inclusive educational environment for students from PreK4 through 12th grade.

Transforming education has always been my passion. My holistic approach to education is founded on the belief that children excel when they are actively engaged in learning, have opportunities to construct knowledge, and their natural skills and talents guide that process. I believe in making education accessible and inclusive for all students. My vision is to create a space where children can identify their gifts and talents and hone them throughout their learning process. This personalized approach ensures that when they graduate, they will have a clear path—whether it be a career, trade, or college/university. At PTKC, we are committed to fostering an environment where every student can thrive and realize their full potential.

The funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will be used to:

1. Secure a Larger Location for the 2025-2026 School Year: As our student body grows, we need a bigger facility that can support our unique educational model, specialized learning pathways, and inclusive programs.

2. Purchase Property for a Permanent Campus: Our long-term vision includes acquiring a property to build a state-of-the-art school campus. This campus will feature:

- Advanced Classrooms and Labs: To support our STEAM, Trade, Music Academy, Language, and Sports programs, offering students hands-on, real-world learning experiences.

- Community Spaces: To foster collaboration and engagement with local businesses, colleges, and universities, enhancing our students' educational and career opportunities.

- An ABA Therapy Center: To provide specialized support for students with ASD and other unique abilities, ensuring they receive the best possible care and education.

- An Educator's Institute: To provide Continuing Education, Professional Development, and Internships for those in College Programs (RBTs, Speech Therapists, Teachers, etc.), fostering a community of lifelong learners and educators.

- Community Spaces: To foster family engagement, operate a food pantry, and serve as teaching spaces for the community, enhancing our students' and their families' support systems and educational opportunities.

- A Futsal Stadium: To promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among our students.
