Over the holidays, our dear friends suffered a frightening situation where they almost lost their 13-year-old daughter, Sydnie Clark. She became critically ill and has spent 17 days in the Pediatric ICU. During that time, she faced serious complications, including bleeding in her lungs, inflamed kidneys, swelling in her face and extremities, had significant weight loss, and much more. Sydnie has been to strong and has suffered so much.
After extensive testing, Sydnie was diagnosed with ANCA vasculitis, a rare autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the body’s blood vessels and can damage vital organs such as the lungs and kidneys. They still do not understand what triggered this. While there is no cure, it requires ongoing treatment and close medical care.
Sydnie has received 4 blood transfusions, 1 plasma transfusion and 5 plasma exchanges. Massive amounts of steroids and a few rounds of chemotherapy.
Sydnie fortunately is no longer in the ICU but remains hospitalized and continues to make a slow recovery. She will continue with chemotherapy for a few more years and hopefully send this illness into remission.
The medical bills from her prolonged ICU stay and continued hospital care are overwhelming. This fundraiser is to help support Sydnie and her family so they can focus on her healing.
If you know the Clark's, you know what an amazing family they are! They are constantly serving and helping others. If you are able, please, let us serve them by helping with these medical bills. They deserve it.
Any donation or share is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your support.
