Our incredible, loving, and resilient matriarch, Saundra Payne, is facing one of the greatest battles of her life. Shortly after losing her beloved sister and best friend, Elizabeth, Saundra experienced a sudden brain aneurysm that required emergency surgery. During that procedure, she suffered a stroke, which dramatically changed the course of her recovery.

All of this happened around her birthday on July 22—what should have been a day of celebration became a fight for her life. She endured a long and difficult hospitalization and is now stepping into the slow, courageous road of rehabilitation. Her spirit remains strong, her will is fierce, and her determination continues to inspire everyone who knows her.

Although she is blessed to be back home, Saundra now needs ongoing support to regain stability, strength, and independence. We are raising funds to provide a dedicated personal care assistant—someone who can help with essential daily needs such as showering, bathing, foot and nail care, mobility support, and overall personal hygiene. This level of care is crucial for her comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

Her son, Nesto, has carried this journey with unwavering love and warrior-level commitment, advocating for her needs every step of the way. As he continues to juggle work, caregiving, and the emotional weight of this season, outside support will bring relief and ensure Saundra receives the consistent, compassionate care she truly deserves.
