Support Sydney Rowen’s Thesis Film: “The Happiest Girl”
Donation protected
My name is Sydney Rowen, and I am a current senior film student at Syracuse University. For the past year, I have been working on my thesis film, a project that is an extremely personal homage to an experience that I went through as a teenager dealing with depression in a psychiatric ward. My story is less about the trauma that I went through, and more about the people I met, the empathy I developed, and the person I became because of this unique experience.
"The Happiest Girl" follows 16-year-old Sadie as she is admitted into a psychiatric ward. Though hesitant at first, Sadie begins to appreciate life as she goes through the ups and downs of her experience.
Making a film requires time, dedication, and financial support. Your donation will go directly towards production costs and distribution, and we cannot do it without you.
I am so proud of the story I have created, as it is real, genuine, and aims to de-stigmatize important conversations about mental health topics. By creating this film, I want to inspire others and show that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
Any contribution—whether it be $5 or $500—means the world to me and goes directly to creating a story that inspires hope.
Thank you so much for your support.
