Hi everyone,

My name is Ashley Squires and I am Sydney’s little sister. I’m writing this on behalf of myself and my brother, Aaron. We’re devastated to share that Sydney’s husband, Charlie, tragically passed away this weekend from cardiac arrest while running the Brooklyn NY Half Marathon. Charlie and Syd lived a very active and healthy lifestyle making this tragic event especially unimaginable.

Charlie’s sudden passing is a heartbreaking shock for everyone, especially Sydney. Many have reached out asking how they can support Syd during this difficult time. Beyond checking in on her and making sure she is wrapped in love, we’d love to help raise money to ease her financial burden. Syd would never ask, but as her siblings, it would mean the world to us if we could rally together to cover funeral expenses, unexpected bills, and ensure she can fly back to the Twin Cities whenever she feels the need to be with family in the months ahead.

Charlie was deeply loved and will always be a cherished member of our family. We are sending love to the rest of Charlie’s family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
