Tiffany "Sweetlocs" Taylor: In The Midst of It All ----- A Breast Cancer Story
Sweetlocs has been my right-hand in the music business for over 20 years! Yet she means so much more to me than just that…she is my sister and a special auntie to my boys. As she goes on this journey, I am inspired by her strength and ability to smile through her pain. We have leaned on her since day 1…now it is time for her to lean on us.

What Sweetlocs thought was merely a strained back turned out to be the start of something much more serious. After weeks of discomfort, she was hospitalized with a blood clot in her lung. During that stay, a bone biopsy revealed the official diagnosis: metastatic breast cancer.
Sweetlocs underwent spinal surgery to stabilize the areas weakened by the cancer with rods and pins, and then urgently began radiation treatment.
As she continues her cancer journey, Sweetlocs is still a beacon of light for others. She is a force — a mother, a sister, a friend, and a vibrant spirit in her community. Known for her radiant smile, soulful energy, and her beautiful locs that seem to dance with her laughter. She embodies resilience long before the word was ever necessary.
“I’ve always been told I’m a strong woman, but I never fully understood what that meant until this journey. Now, I realize I’m stronger than I ever knew—finally seeing in myself what others have recognized all along, and truly standing in it, knowing I am strong.
As a single mother to my beautiful 5-year-old son, Trane—who is on the autism spectrum—this cancer diagnosis has reshaped my world. But in the midst of the uncertainty, I’ve found a deeper strength and purpose than I ever imagined.
I’m incredibly grateful for my mother, Yolanda, who selflessly cares for me and Trane. I thank every family member, friend, and especially my care team—doctors, nurses, and support staff—who continue to surround me with compassion, skill, and unwavering support.”
Sweetlocs embraces her new journey with the same spirit she brings to everything else. She is teaching us that strength isn’t the absence of fear, but the decision to keep moving, keep loving, and keep shining in the midst of it all.
Sweetlocs, a dedicated entrepreneur who has built a career based on her love for music, now needs to focus on her recovery. The road ahead will bring more surgeries, treatment, mounting medical bills, and life expenses.
Please consider supporting Sweetlocs and her family during this challenging season. Your generosity will go a long way in lifting up our sister and friend when she needs it most.
In the meantime, she will continue to share her story, uplift those who struggle in silence, and remind everyone around her that life, even in its hardest moments, is still worth celebrating.
Thank you in advance.
With Love,
Eric Roberson, Anshia Crooms and Friends
