Generally I'm not someone who shares personal info, but this is too big to not be shared; literally...

This is my daughter Bellalicia or just "Bay-a" (sp. Bella) as we call her. She is 18.5 yrs old, & all things sweet & good. Bella is a seriously funny 96% introvert, she's quiet, guileless, amiable, & can usually be found helping others, in the garden, or with her beloved cats. Other hobbies include puzzles, equine activities, crafts, quiet/classical music, church youth group, & home-school work. Bella's dad passed away 10yrs ago unexpectedly, so she's all we have.

Although Bella has celiac & a complete dairy intolerance, she doesn't truly complain about much or have any other health issues. Other than a little "tummy weight" gain the last year. About 1wk before Christmas Bella noted some mild lower abdominal ache off/on. It went away. Then she had off/on severe nausea, 'probably dairy or gluten contamination' we thought. Until early Jan 2 when she woke with excrutuating abdominal pain & vomiting black.

MANY hours in the local ER, labs, more labs, 3x ultrasounds, CT, pelvic & abdominal MRIs, consults with GYN, GYN/OC, hospitalists, GI, & urology... revealed Bella has a MASSIVE serous fluid-filled cyst (tumor) filling her ENTIRE ABDOMINAL CAVITY. It is pushing on the bottom of her heart & stretches down to her private area where it is completely compressing her Right ureter, causing R kidney backflow. Where her lower R ovary is she has a solid distended mass, most likely the malignant root of the larger cyst. Her stomach, liver, lungs & spleen are being pushed up & back towards her heart. Her intestines are severely compressed into her spine.

The Beast has made itself known. Very quickly it became obvious Bella's vomiting was hard to control (everything is being forced up) & her pain has increased dramatically as the mass has reached... critical mass on her organs. She can no longer eat or use the restroom, she can't lay down or the pressure-pain is excrutiating, & she struggles to breathe.

At this time we are currently in a larger Tacoma hospital where sub- specialty surgeons under the lead of GYN/OC will be performing emergency surgery on her this afternoon, Tuesday Jan 6.

The last 1.5yrs our family has experienced other severe set-backs with unexpected job changes, significant financial loss, moving, vehicle/pet emergencies, FMLA time-off for other health issues, & death in the family. As I am her only parent & have just started a new job I have NO accrued PTO or PFML/FMLA, nor can I afford to take time off.

Funds donated here will go towards Bella's support, surgery, & hospital stay (which may be weeks with potentially other surgeries). Further funds will go to her ongoing medical care in the near future. Specific uses:
- Gas (we live 1hr from hosp,
- Bridge toll & ferry cost
- Car needs (insurance, oil)
- Basic home utilities & bills adversely affected by my work (rent, electricity, cell, internet)
- Food (if needed per strict dietary limits normally, & then post-surgical)
