Hello! While driving home a couple weeks ago, a thin obviously injured kitty-cat ran out in front of my car.

I did what any kooky cat lady would do: stopped the car, jumped out, grabbed the cat, and went straight to the vet.

Most of what ails this purr machine will heal with antibiotics, steroids, and the good life indoors. Turns out that terrible looking paw of his is eaten up with cancer and this sweet senior cat needs an amputation.

He is not able to hop up on anything because of paw pain, so he stays ground level. Sweeney loves his cozy blankets and his heating pad. He eats like a champ and has gained more than a pound already.

The wound on his mouth is healing up; his skin seems to be clearing up, too!

The vet guesses Sweeney is between 10 and 15 years old, which is amazing for a street kitty. The cancer limb has to go, and his surgery is scheduled for Dec 12. We’re looking at about $2600 including all his medication to take home. It’s risky for an old guy like Sweeney to even have surgery, but after some recent pet losses, I just have to try to help this guy.

I understand that everyone is spread thin and things are tough all over, but if you’d like to contribute any amount towards his surgery, that would be so helpful and so appreciated.
