Support Suzie Hiatt's Life-Saving Treatment
Donation protected
My name is Cassy. I am Suzie Hiatt’s daughter. I am trying to raise money to help pay life dependent medical costs. My mother is my entire world. I am trying everything I can to help her survive. I cannot afford everything she needs on my own. Family has been great at coming forward to help but we just have a couple months now that we need to get through for medicine and Doctor appointments. The Heart Catheter just diagnosed the right heart failure a week ago. There was no time to prepare for the upcoming medical treatment needed. She will qualify for early retirement survivor benefits. She will know June 10th how much she will qualify for and when she will start receiving it. At that time, she will go to healthcare.gov and work on getting insurance to help pay for the necessary things.
Suzie is needing medical machines to be able to live somewhat comfortably. Her son and daughter-in-law, my brother and sister-in-law, were able to purchase the machines that are desperately needed. Unfortunately, the cost does not stop there. She just needs a little more help to be able to continue with the treatment needed until she is able to apply for insurance and pay. They are finally finding answers as to what may be causing her breathing issues. She is not able to walk from one room to another without her oxygen. If she does, she is so out of breath it isn’t even funny. Her oxygen will go down to the 70’s and 60’s within a few steps. Suzie is on Oxygen 24/7. Her COPD and asthma are not bad enough to cause the breathing issues she has faced. They have recently discovered her body is retaining high levels of carbon dioxide. As if that wasn’t life threatening enough, the right side of her heart is retaining fluid. This may be causing her issues and they may be able to make things a little easier. She has to see the Doctor to learn a little more and without insurance, the out-of-pocket cost is going to be crazy. She is in respiratory failure. She worked for the same company for over 20 years and they shut down. She was working for another company from home in the same line of work but they let her and 4 others go due to a shift in business April 25th. Her severance kept her insurance active until the end of May. When her Cardiologist found out she was losing her insurance, they rushed her in to get a heart catheter done. This is when we learned about her heart retaining fluid/failure.
The Bi-Pap is helping by pushing out the carbon dioxide. The oxygen concentrator is helping her breathe and move and do things she needs/wants to do. Fortunately, my brother and sister-in-law was able to provide that. We are just asking for help to help her cover the cost for Doctor’s appointments and medication until she is able to get insurance. She is applying for Social Security but does not qualify for medical. I am asking for anyone to please help her in any way they can. ANYTHING will help! If you don’t want to donate online, I can meet you somewhere and collect a donation. I also have Venmo, CashApp and ApplePay. I appreciate your time and thank you.
