Support Suzan Free’s Mission to Recovery
On behalf of Suzan Ersoy Free,
we are reaching out for help with medical expenses, rehabilitation and care.
Suzan is a wife and proud mom of two beautiful daughters. She
miraculously survived a tragic
head on collision October 30,
2020 in Philomath, Oregon.
One moment was all it took.
While running a very ordinary errand on a very ordinary day, an
oncoming truck veered into her
lane, hitting Suzan’s vehicle head on at 55 mph. Sadly, the other driver did not survive.
Suzan is a very active, beautiful,
vivacious, inspiring, loving and
funny person. First and foremost she is the mom of two girls,
Natalie and Ilana. She’s also a
sister, daughter, niece, friend, wife, mom of two Great Dane rescues and so much more. In a split second, her body was broken and shattered into pieces and she was a China doll needing to be put back together.
The list of Suzan’s injuries kept
growing the 1st few days:
thoracic artery tear causing life-
threatening internal bleeding,
broken collarbone, sternum,
several ribs, both humerus bones,
one in five places, shattered
elbow, compound fracture of her
femur, broken tibia, fractured
foot, multiple lacerations. A big
saving grace was no brain injury.
One surgery after another,
sometimes only a few hours in
between, to begin putting her body back together piece by piece. We prayed she would come through
and the doctors could ease her pain.
The praying continued from NC, PA, CO to OR, CA, HI and
everywhere in between. The girls
could not lose their mother.
We had lost our mother 32 years
ago. Suzan knew what it was like
to grow up without one. We
could not lose our sister. The
three of us sisters grew up
depending on each other,
defending each other and
supporting each other. In this
moment we begged and pleaded
for our sister to be healed.
Through it all Suzan has been so
strong. The hospital has called
her a “warrior”. Her story has
spread throughout Good
Samaritan Hospital and they are
inspired by her bravery as she
faces these painful obstacles.
Suzan repeatedly says she is so
very grateful she was the one
who received these injuries and
not her daughter who was in the car with her. Natalie, who dialed 911 and lovingly comforted her mother while waiting, walked away from this horrid crash with only a sore back and neck that will require physical therapy. It was a true miracle.
As the family faces the long road ahead we want them to focus on healing physically, emotionally
and making sure Suzan has every-thing she needs in order to
recover to the fullest extent
possible. Her husband lost his job due to Covid six months ago.
While going through all the
proper channels for insurance
coverage, the bills are piling up
and the long term costs for her
care and rehabilitation will
exceed their medical coverage.
We are so very grateful for any
and all donations. If you are
unable to donate please say a
prayer for Suzan, send positive
thoughts and energy, add her to
your church prayer list or
whatever you’re comfortable
with.
There’s power in prayer!
Also please share this! Her world, our world was forever changed in that moment.
Stay safe, be kind and blessings to you all in every one of your
moments.
