Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

We come to you with heavy hearts and a heartfelt plea to share the story of my sweet nephew, an extraordinary little boy named Sutherland. For over a year this spitfire of a tiny human has been battling seizures with no real answers.

His battle began in May of 2024 shortly after his first birthday. And what appeared to be a simple febrile seizure has turned into a nightmare for him and our family. He has been seen at several different hospitals, has required several emergency ambulance rides, been through a slew of medicine changes and at this point nothing is working. For the last month he has been seizing every day and his seizures have become more frequent each day. Sutherland went from being 9 months seizure free to seizing every 5-10 minutes. He and his parents deserve answers and relief. We are determined to rally around him and his family during this incredibly challenging time.

Sutherland is a lively and spirited child who brings joy and laughter to everyone he encounters, with his boundless energy and infectious smile. He has a deep love for Jesus and Dancing. His ability to light up a room is truly extraordinary, and it breaks our hearts to see him facing such a significant hurdle at such a tender age.

His parents now find themselves on a challenging journey advocating for Sutherland to receive the medical care he deserves. The hospitals in Oklahoma have unfortunately dropped the ball on more than one occasion with his care. Texas Children’s Hospital in the Houston Med Center is equipped and ready to provide the care that can lead to a diagnosis and hopefully relief. Unfortunately insurance is making it almost impossible for them to transfer there. This is where we come in.

I am reaching out to seek your support for Sutherland and his family during this critical time in their lives. The funds collected through this GoFundMe campaign will be directed toward:

- Medical expenses, which encompass treatment costs, specific tests to pinpoint where his brain is misfiring, essential medications, and hospital stays that are necessary for his care

- Travel expenses related to frequent trips to hospitals and travel expenses to get them to a facility that will provide the care Sutherland deserves.

- Everyday living expenses for the family, allowing them to focus on Sutherland’s journey and recovery without the overwhelming stress of financial concerns

Our goal is to raise enough money to help ensure that Sutherland receives the highest quality of care possible. Any amount helps. We also want to alleviate some of the financial burdens his family is facing during this trying time. Every contribution, regardless of size, will play a vital role in making a difference in their lives.
