At Light and Care Ministry in Uganda, 28 children and 4 dedicated caretakers share a home built on love, faith, and constant determination. The girls share one room, the boys another — and every day, they make the most of what they have. They are outgrowing their current space. Now, we have a chance to give them something more: land of their own to grow, learn, and flourish.
The land has been found. A 2-hectare plot in Jinja District, Uganda is available… and at $15,348, with the owner open to down payments, it is within reach with help.
What a new plot of land would mean:
- Sustainable agriculture - Growing their own food to reduce dependency on outside support and nourish the children year-round.
- Poultry Farming - Raising chickens for eggs and protein - a reliable, sustainable source of nutrition and potential income.
- Classroom space - Room to teach, learn, and prepare these children with the skills and knowledge to build their own futures. This would eliminate the cost of school fees.
Our story:
Light and Care Ministry is home to 28 children who have found family, stability, and hope within its walls. Four caring adults pour their lives into raising these kids & teens, cooking meals, making sure they can attend classes and planning for tomorrow. A separate campaign helps cover the children's daily necessities/school fees, and thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, their basic needs are cared for.
This campaign is about opportunity. With a new plot of land, Light and Care Ministry can move toward self-sufficiency, reducing their dependence on ongoing aid and building a legacy that lasts far beyond any single donation.

Every dollar raised goes directly toward securing the land purchase. Once acquired, the ministry will have the physical space to:
- Plant and harvest crops to feed the family
- Establish a clean chicken-raising program for nutrition and income
- Create a dedicated space for classes and skills training
