My sister Susie's husband, Bob, passed away on May 20th, 2025, after several hospitalizations with complications from COPD. Because of Bob's age and previous medical conditions, surviving cancer and a brain bleed, Bob was not able to get a policy large enough to pay for funeral expenses. Susie was advised to take out a policy on herself and was told she could transfer it to Bob and use it to pay for his expenses. Bob was a real cowboy, and he fought to the very end. I promised him on his deathbed, I would take care of my sister. Not only has she lost the love of her life, but now the life insurance company will not pay out the $10,000 death benefit. Susie was counting on this money to cover the cost of funeral expenses. Susie owes a remaining balance of $6,841.00; there is no other benefit or funds to claim with the exception of a one-time social security survivor benefit of $250. Anyone that knows Susie and Bob knows that they have always been generous and kind. They would never ask for donations, but I am asking on their behalf.
