Susan, my mom, has always been a dedicated teacher and a caring presence in our community. Recently, she faced a serious health crisis when complications from her autoimmune conditions left her unable to eat. After visiting the doctor, her oxygen levels dropped so low that she was sent to the hospital, then transferred to a larger facility where doctors discovered she had severe pneumonia. The pneumonia became so serious that Susan had to be placed on a ventilator for several days. Thankfully, she is now off the ventilator, but her recovery is far from over. She will need to be transferred again for surgery to help her eat and drink, and the road ahead is uncertain. Because of this, Susan will miss several weeks of work, which is especially hard as she is a teacher who cares deeply for her students. The financial strain from medical bills and lost wages will be a burden. We are reaching out for help to cover these expenses so Susan can focus on healing and getting back to the classroom she loves.
