Support Susan's Post-Hospice Path to Full Recovery

Thank you for taking the time to read this request. As most of you probably know if you’re reading this, my/our friend Susan Polito was diagnosed with a very rare and devastating form of Lymphoma (Angioimmunoblastic T-cell non-Hodgkin) in 2022. Many prayed and hoped for full healing, but the prognosis was very poor.

At the time, she was placed in in-home Hospice, and she’s been under there care since, up until very recently. Weeks ago, Hospice sent Susan for testing at Moffit Cancer Center, and God has performed an outright and undisputable miracle. Susan is in spontaneous remission, and she no longer has a “terminal” diagnosis. To God be the glory. ❤ Based on those findings, Susan has been discharged by Hospice. This is where we come in.

The last 2.5 years of Hospice care has left Susan with a 260 mg per day ER Morphine dependency. Hospice’s only requirement in discharging Susan was that she have appointments set up for continuing care after the discharge. This past weekend, Susan went to her first PCP appointment, which did nothing to help answer the question of what to do with her newfound Morphine dependency. After that appointment, Susan had an appointment with a pain management physician and was told that because of the high dose of morphine she is on, that the pain management clinic/doctor can do absolutely nothing to help. As a side note, Susan is 67 years old and has never taken prescription/illicit drugs at any time in her life until now (prior to 2.5 years ago).

Medicare will help pay for a drug rehab or detox center, but after exhaustive research (if you know SP, you KNOW that if she researches something, she is thorough), Susan has concluded that the only treatment that seems to eliminate the drug dependency quickly and without severe withdrawal symptoms and cravings for drugs is called ANR. Medicare pays nothing toward this treatment option. ANR is state of the art and is thought to be the only treatment option that returns the patient to a pre-opioid state.

The procedure Susan needs is $20,500 and the hotel she and Tony (amazing husband man) will be staying in costs $360 per night.

God has worked a miracle in curing Susan of this horrible cancer, and now she’s arrived at part 2 of the miracle. Tiny amounts can add up to more than enough if the right people read this and feel compelled to give to this cause. If you love my friend (and if you know her, you probably do), please consider giving any amount.

100% of any amounts received will go straight to Susan, and I know with certainty that Susan appreciates any funds that are raised more than we can possibly know.

Thank you so much!

Love,
Emily
