We are raising funds to benefit Susan Ruhol-Ballinger. Susan was diagnosed with ALS almost two years ago and recently became completely bed bound with Hospice Care and we believe at the end of her life.
We are asking for funds to help with her funeral expenses and medical bills. Unfortunately, Todd, her husband, lost his job of over 25 years in December, so they have been left with no income, insurance, and no way to pay bills or live.
ALS is a fatal motor neuron disease. The life expectancy is often two to five years. It causes progressive degeneration of nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain. ALS affects voluntary control of arms and legs and leads to trouble breathing. ALS doesn't affect intelligence, thinking, seeing, or hearing.
Susan grew up in the Montrose area and was an avid baker, woodworker, loved to craft, and loves her kids and grandkids. She loved to dance and loved karaoke.
If you have ever known Susan, you would know her for her spunky, headstrong love. She is one of the most caring and loving people you would know but this disease has attacked her with what doctors believe will end her life within the coming weeks.
We desperately ask for anything you can provide to help pay for her services, medical bills, and living expenses until her husband Todd, who has become her full-time caregiver, can go back to work.
