Help My Mom Get the Procedures She Desperately Needs

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my incredible mom, Susanne, a woman who has given everything to support others, and now needs a little help herself. She’s in a fight not just for her health, but for her quality of life, and she can't do it alone anymore.

Six years ago, while simply playing on the playground with her granddaughter, my mom fell — not far, not hard — but somehow, the way she landed shattered her heel. She had to be carried out of the park by strangers, and that moment changed everything.

Since then, she’s endured four major surgeries, complications from allergic reactions to surgical implants, and what we believe is nerve damage from a nerve blocker. Her pain didn’t just linger — it grew. She was eventually diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), one of the most painful and difficult-to-treat conditions out there. CRPS has no cure, and treatments are often trial-and-error, expensive, exhausting, and rarely covered by insurance.

Her condition has only worsened. She now has:

  • Bulging and herniated discs in her lower spine, causing sciatic neuropathy down both legs
  • Bulging and herniated discs in her neck, causing pinched nerves down both arms
  • Nerve damage in her left foot and entire left leg
  • Chronic pain in her arms, hips, and legs
  • Inflammation that makes her feel like her body is constantly on fire
  • And of course, CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)

She doesn’t sleep. She barely eats. She keeps going.

On top of that, my mom is supporting my disabled sister and my 12-year-old niece, both of whom live with her. Despite all of this, she continues to work full-time as a hearing aid specialist, helping people hear, feel heard, and reclaim their lives. She shows up for everyone else — always. But now she needs someone to show up for her.

What She Needs Right Now

Her doctors believe that a spinal cord stimulator could finally offer her relief. But before she can have the device implanted, she must first undergo a trial procedure, which costs about $4,000 out of pocket. That’s money she simply doesn’t have — not after years of medical bills, travel for treatment, medications, and supporting a household on her own.

If the trial works (and we’re praying it does), she’ll still need:

  • The full spinal cord stimulator implant surgery (at least $10,000)
  • 4 Nerve ablation procedure - Radio Frequency Ablation ($6000)
  • Multiple injections in her neck to stop the vertebrae from compressing the nerve (TBD on the cost)
  • Continued care and pain management support

This is her last option. She has tried everything: medications (to which she’s allergic), anti-inflammatory diets, pain institutes, and more. She can’t take opioids, which is both a blessing and a curse, because nothing else is helping anymore.

How You Can Help
We’re raising $30,000 to get her through this trial, the necessary procedures, and ongoing care.

Every single dollar helps. Every share helps. Every bit of support matters.

My mom is the strongest, kindest, most selfless woman I know. She never asks for anything, even when she should — but right now, she needs help. She deserves relief. She deserves to enjoy her life again, not just survive it.

Thank you so much for reading, for caring, and for helping us fight for her future.

With so much gratitude and love,

Jackie
