Support Susan West's Cancer Recovery

Hello! My name is Esmé and I am managing this Go Fund Me on behalf of my dear friends Sue West and Ruby McCollister.

Sue was recently diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer and has been in and out of the hospital due to various complications from her disease. The tumor has obstructed several major organs and she currently has two nephrostomy bags and an ostomy bag. She is unable to walk or preform basic functions due to extreme weakness. She is currently in a rehab facility recovering from sepsis, and undergoing immunotherapy at the same time.

As a result of this, Sue has not been able to work. Her daughter Ruby has been by Sue's side as much as she can. Ruby has had to take on significantly less work due to this situation, and is unable to meet all of the costs that come with having a parent go through such a trying time.

Sue's treatment is covered under her insurance, but there are so many other expenses that come from taking care of a loved one, including potentially hiring an at home nurse when Sue is eventually discharged from rehab.

Anyone who knows Sue knows that she is an incredible person. There is a long, uncertain road ahead. This situation has risen out of nowhere, and this beautiful family needs our help. I wanted to help Sue and Ruby create a space where their community can come together to help get them through this incredibly trying time.
