A NOTE FROM SUE'S CLOSE FRIEND, XIMENA DAVIS
I am very saddened by the sequence of events since March 15, 2020.  When Sue became ill, symptoms were not straight forward, over the past several months she visited many physicians and specialists and had many diagnostic tests to finally confirm a diagnosis of a rare autoimmune disease "Polymyositis," a chronic muscle inflammation that affects your entire body.

Her life as she knew it came to a halt. This a debilitating disease . The affects of this disease has taken a toll on Sue both mentally and physically. She has been experiencing severe muscle weakness and pain, facing daily challenges with the basics of getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, walking, stairs, etc. Imagine your muscles not firing for any minor activity, lifting your own body weight with every movement. This is very exhausting. Sue is a very strong individual and she will get better in time, but what that length of time will be is really unknown. This is truly heartbreaking to see Sue struggle and suffer and be  unable to work.

34 years ago I had the privilege of crossing paths with Sue when she came to the Vail Valley. We had an instant connection, a true and special friendship developed and here we are today, still the best of friends. I am extremely fortunate and grateful to have Sue in my life and I treasure our friendship everyday. To say the least she has rocked my world. Not only is she my best friend, she is family, "my SISTER."  Sue is an incredible being, so very generous and giving, has a heart of gold, would drop everything to lend a helping hand to a friend. Those folks who are fortunate to know Sue, know that  the best quality she has is her sensational sense of humor.  She will bring tears of laughter into your world, lift up your spirits and brighten your everyday. I am so lucky and proud to be her friend.

Please help Sue get back on her feet :)

WHY YOUR SUPPORT IS CRITICAL
Sue has been unable to work since she was stricken with this rare disease. Yet her medical bills continue to come in every week, and her business continues to operate.

Your support will help to assure that Looking Good can remain in operation and that Sue does not lose the local business she has spent the past 28 years building as she fights this devastating condition. Donations will pay for rent, utilities, product and supplies, allowing the three stylists Sue employees to continue to work while she is unable to do so.

We ask that you please help support Sue as she faces this challenging time. Thank you.

GAYLYN BEDINGFIELD

I have known Susan for 52 years, she has been my biggest cheerleader and dearest friend throughout these years. She is the strongest person I know, honest as the day is long, and has the dearest, kindest heart . I guess what I’m saying is I am bloody lucky to have such a bad ass friend!

She suddenly got ill and developed this paralysis, which scared me to no end. Being a nurse my mind worked overtime, but she never once complained,  she was always positive and grateful for the care and love she was given.

She has been going into work, when she can, even with this awful condition, Susan is the most giving person, and I feel now it’s time for us to give back.

This is a very rare condition, and her tests were sent to the Mayo Clinic.

Please help Susan at this time, because if any of you know Susan, she will pay it forward in a heartbeat. Please lift her up in prayers and send her love and light.

You got this Sue!!!

COLIN MEIRING

I’ve known Susan Harding for 25 years. Her generosity, guidance, friendship and open heart are a huge asset to this community. I’ve witnessed Susan guide, help and most of all listen to her all her clients over the past 25 years. Her laughter, enthusiasm and sense of humor has been a life line to everyone at some point and time.

Her recent diagnosis has now left her stranded and helpless to navigate forward. I urge you to all reciprocate her past generosity to others and help in any way you can. This community is capable of lifting up and supporting those in need. Susan needs our help.

SUSAN SABIDO
Sue is my dear friend and has been so for 38 years. Sue and I met whilst we were working at RJ’s steakhouse in South Africa where she was working and I worked part time whilst at uni. Never having waitressed before Sue, in only Sue style, took me under her skilled wing and showed me the ropes and more! We went off to Europe for a year and the time of our lives and that was the beginning of a lifetime close friendship.

Sue was and is THE most generous, kind person I have ever met.

We have been through so many things together and the biggest for me was a very traumatic event in my life which Sue carried me all the way. I want to do the same for Sue now who needs us all so much during this horrific time she is gong through. She has had a hard time with the loss of her beautiful Mom and the events with Preston her husband and now her illness, so unfair for the most giving person.

Sue of course does not ask us for pity but puts her hat on, pulls up her sleeves and with the best attitude continues as best she can.

One needs to be able to rest and relax whilst beating a disease and can only do this with some financial help from others.

AMY THOMAS - BOOKKEEPING SYSTEMS, INC.

We know the challenges that come with running a small business in the amazing Vail Valley.  I have an accounting business and have the pleasure of working with Sue Harding for thirty years.  Sue owns and operates Looking Good hair salon.  She has been serving the community with her salon services and also offers employment to other stylists.

Over the years she has weathered all the ups and downs that small businesses go through.  She has done whatever was needed to keep her business up and running. Now Sue needs the help of the community to weather her personal health issues which are not allowing her to work the schedule she has always worked to keep her shop running.  We hope this is a temporary slow down in Sue’s life, let’ help her get through it!
