Help Support Susan Freeman's Medical Journey

Donation protected
I'm Norman Parrish and my wife Susan Freeman is in the photo you see.

On June 5, 2025, Susan suffered a medical emergency; it was a normal workday as an insurance agent of 35+ years in High Point, NC. That evening, everything changed for her when she became violently sick, had trouble breathing, and was in terrible pain. The ambulance took her to Thomasville Medical Center where she was treated for low oxygen and heart failure. After one night, doctors determined that she needed to be rushed to the Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC by the Novant Intensive Cardiac Care ambulance.

A team immediately began working on her, and she was placed on a ventilator. Now, 3 weeks later, she has been moved to the Neurology Intensive Care Unit.

This week was our 21st Anniversary. She's strong, and there has slowly been improvement. In addition to this devastating situation, there is also the weight of the reality of our situation. You see, I'm a double organ transplant recipient and guess who was with me every step of the journey from the moment we met, SUSAN!

Susan and I met in 2003 and married in 2004. Susan loved and cared for me through many health issues due to complications from Juvenile Diabetes. She supported and cared for me through the loss of my vision in one eye to diabetic retinopathy, stroke, kidney failure, dialysis, and then eventually a double organ transplant.

Due to decades of my medical history and the financial constraints that come with my care and inability to work, we have lived a very simple life and have been thankful to God and all His many blessings. As a one-income family plus my disability income, we have managed. As I stay by my wife, I've been at a loss as to how it will be possible to financially survive. Susan has no health insurance, and I have no idea what is going to happen with the Novant medical bills.

Friends and family have inquired how they can help; the answer, of course, is prayer. Then it was suggested that I try to ask for assistance with our monthly expenses, and all I can say is that any amount is welcome. If you can assist, great; but please include Susan in your prayers.
