Support Survivors of Natural Disasters
Update: We are now a 501(c)(3) charity and all donations made from June 23, 2023 forward are now tax deductible. We have hundreds of dollars in ongoing expenses to make these donated ornaments possible and are so grateful for your support.
With billion-dollar natural disasters happening an average of every 24 days thousands of families lose their homes and all their possessions. For the past three years, Operation Ornaments (formally Operation Christmas Ornaments) has delivered sets of hand-crafted Christmas ornaments to survivors. In 2022 ornaments were created and donated from 33 states and Japan resulting in a total of 20,000 ornaments. This enabled us to serve 1,600 families of survivors of the Marshall fire in Colorado and tornado survivors in Kentucky and Tennessee.
We want survivors of disasters to understand they have not been forgotten. We have seen the joy, hope, gratitude and lots of tears from those who have received ornaments. To this point, our volunteers have spent hundreds of dollars of their own money packaging and delivering ornaments as well as absorbing the cost of travel and hotels. We have coordinators in place, to serve survivors of the two worst disasters in 2022, the hurricanes in Florida and Floods in Kentucky-Virginia. We have also added a coordinator in Alabama to help us serve survivors of tornados in Eastern Alabama. Survivors of disasters are too quickly forgotten and we will not forget.
