Support survivors and help Mosaic rebuild.

On July 10, 2023, our Executive Director, Anne Ward, stood on the porch at Mosaic’s offices in Barre, VT, and watched the water rise around our building, washing past our offices and into our shelter and transitional housing units that had been evacuated only moments before.

The housing unit we lost provided an accessible, safe place to consider options, heal, and gather strength for people of all genders and identities suffering from the impacts of sexual violence. As one of the first places in the United States to offer this kind of safety, the loss of this unit is particularly devastating to the least cared for members of our community.

Mosaic can get this unit and our other damaged housing units back online together, but we need your help.

In addition to the shelter and transitional housing units, Mosaic needs to replace our vital facilities (furnace, hot water heater, etc.) and move them up into our office spaces and out of our basement. This is a requirement that we MUST meet by the end of this calendar year. Our flood insurance will contribute somewhat to replacement costs but will not facilitate the required remediation against future losses.

We can't continue to do this work without you, but together we can create a world with resilient communities, free of sexual and gender-based violence, where all people are supported in healing from harm.
