I am Christine, a friend of the AITalla family. Living in the US, I am setting up this GFM to help raise the necessary funding to meet the needs of this lovely family.

Mohammed is 32, married to Razan and they have a little daughter, Rose. He loves them and needs to provide for his family’s basic needs. As a Palestinian, living in Gaza, his family’s lives have been upended by the war. His ability to continue providing for his family has been severely compromised due to the ongoing war. The need to provide the basics such as bread, milk, eggs, medicine, and even sanitary pads is incredibly expensive. The situation in Gaza is dire, with severe food shortages and hyperinflation. Prices have surged by hundreds, even thousands, of percent compared to pre-conflict levels. Many essential food items are unavailable, and those that can be found are often priced far beyond what most families can afford. A kilogram of rice that cost $3 in February is now $18. A cucumber costs 7 times more than before. One egg is about $3,1kg of onions can cost more than $80, and 1kg of meat is around $40. A very basic meal for a family could cost well over $50.

Mohammed, Razan, and Rose live under constant threat of bombing and displacement. Uncertainty is the new “normal.” By supporting the AlTalla family, you are bringing hope during a very difficult time.

Mohammed has been an educator for many years, working with children of all ages. His passion and dedication (even in times of uncertainty) in Palestinian curriculum and teaching basics in English are still sought for the youth in Gaza. Serving children has been hampered by the loss of infrastructure e.g electricity, batteries for computers, supplies like paper, pens, and markers.

Mohammed’s desire to continue in-person teaching and making videos for his online subscribers is an effort to provide support to his family. His desire is to continue to build his online business while serving his community. As costs soar due to the war in Gaza, he is in need of financial support for the basics to survive as well as obtain a solar panel, batteries, and supplies to help support his learning environment within his home and the continued creation of videos. Securing supplies will be about $2000. With increased scarcity of items, the cost could go up.
