Swimming to Support Surfrider Foundation's Ocean Efforts
Tax deductible
Hello Everyone,
Sarah Federman, here. Every week I swim in the Pacific Ocean for four reasons: fish, friends, fitness and fun. Now it's time to give back. This year, I dedicate the "3 Mile La Jolla Cove Swim" on September 7th to support the Surfrider Foundation, an effective organization dedicated to protecting our oceans, waves, and beaches.
My work as a professor in USD's Kroc School of Peace Studies includes a focus on ecological issues, so I understand both personally and professionally how critical ocean conservation is.
During my time in California, I've been impressed by Surfrider's beach clean ups and advocacy.
Founded by surfers in 1984, Surfrider has grown into a powerful activist network with over 50,000 members and 80 grassroots chapters worldwide, uniting us in the fight for cleaner coastlines and healthier marine ecosystems.
Your support helps the Surfrider Foundation make a difference by contributing towards efforts like:
- Mobilizing grassroots campaigns to protect coastal areas and promote sustainable practices.
- Educating communities about the importance of ocean conservation and responsible beach usage.
- Advocating for policies that safeguard our natural resources and enhance public access to clean beaches.
Every donation, no matter the size, plays a crucial role in sustaining these efforts. Together, we can help ensure that future generations can experience the joy of clean oceans and beautiful beaches. Thank you for your support!
