Amana Kaira Foundation – First Project

Hi, I’m Hannah, and I’ve recently started Amana Kaira Foundation — an initiative focused on supporting communities through education, wellbeing, and practical support.

I have a background working with vulnerable children and families in the UK, which has shaped my approach to safeguarding, care, and doing this work responsibly.

After spending time in The Gambia, I felt strongly about taking a first step and building something meaningful — starting small and growing it properly.

During my visit, I spent time at Sunrise Nursery and Primary School and spoke with the headteacher about the needs of the school.

The school currently supports 118 students, and some classrooms have limited furniture and learning resources. Some children are working on broken or uncomfortable chairs and desks and would benefit from proper seating and workspaces.

This first project will focus on providing essential classroom furniture to help create a more supportive and comfortable learning environment for the students.

All funds raised will go directly towards purchasing desks, chairs, and basic classroom resources locally in The Gambia. I will be personally involved in ensuring everything is delivered properly, with clear updates shared throughout.

If we exceed our initial target, additional funds will be used to further support the school and wider community needs, including educational and community resources.
