This GoFundMe page will help organize the Sunnybrae neighborhood so that we can support our local elementary school. The teachers and staff at Sunnybrae Elementary are dedicated to helping students thrive and are deserving of community support. The funds from this page will help provide the resources they need to establish and maintain an engaging learning environment, where every kid can be successful.

As you look around the Sunnybrae neighborhood, you will see neighbors helping in big and small ways. Fred Rogers from Mr. Roger's Neighborhood would say, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” It isn't just kids who flock to people who are helping. It's human nature, and that is at the heart and essence of who we are in this community. Our natural state of being is to be together and to do good. We help one another. We care about each other. We gladly go above and beyond to support one of the most diverse schools in the Bay area.

WHAT ARE YOU FUNDRAISING FOR?

We are raising funds to support and benefit the students, families, teachers and staff of Sunnybrae Elementary School as well as the wider school community. Sunnybrae is a Title 1 school, which at the federal level means that a school has at least 40% of its children come from low income families. At Sunnybrae, this number is almost 70%.

Sunnybrae students will be nurtured in a welcoming and academically engaging environment that supports the whole child while embracing their culture and identity. Our students will exhibit high academic achievement and social-emotional skills, develop life-long learning skills, and relationships through the IB program
