If you have ever been to our cat cafe, then you’ve met Sunkist. He is our resident cat, mascot, manager, door greeter, and so much more. We love him dearly and so do our supporters!
Around the end of November 2025, I noticed Sunkist would cry out every once in a while when eating. Assuming he may have a rotten tooth, we scheduled him for a dental cleaning. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with stomatitis which is not as easy to manage. Stomatitis is an immune response to plaque which causes inflammation of the mucosa: gums, tongue, cheeks, and throat. It can be treated short term with steroids, which Sunkist has already had.
At this point, the only way to provide Sunkist with any relief is to remove teeth. He is scared to eat now and seems to only tolerate mousse and soups. It hurts him to bath himself and even to yawn. A veterinary dental specialist has recommended removing all his back teeth. The whole procedure is estimated to cost at least $6000; this includes bloodwork, x-rays, ct scans, and the actual surgery.
Please help us give Sunkist his life back!
