My name is Summer. I recently had the scare of a lifetime. Dull back pain that radiated to my right side. I pushed it off and chalked it up to me sleeping weird. Hours later, the pain is excruciating. It was the middle of the night and I figured I’d just drive myself to an urgent care. Within minutes the right side of my body wasn’t working and it was all numb. I called 911 & was admitted to the hospital to find out my Ovary flipped. Not only was my right ovary flipped, but it was cutting off blood flow and dying. To top it off, there was a cyst larger than a grapefruit inside of the right ovary. 

They did all the tests they could and saw I have high markers for a malignant tumor. 

They admitted me for surgery to remove half of my right ovary along with the cyst . The results on my biopsy may take a week or two to confirm if they removed what was indeed cancer & what my next steps would have to be. They also mentioned my left ovary shows cysts so I will have to follow up soon to find out what I may need to do about those. 

My recovery is going to take around 6 weeks and I’m asking for some help during this time.

This isn’t my first time facing what could be cancer head on, but it’s my first time as a mom hearing my cancer could be back. 

I won’t be able to work for some time so anything helps, even a share.
