Summer was my student (three times!) and she is a pretty special one. Apparently, I am not the only one who thinks so -- she will be attending Stanford in the Fall She is also the Commencement speaker for CCSF (3000 grads a year!) so check out her Commencement Bio (I am trying to get the blurb fixed -- it was written before the Stanford decisions were released)! TLDR, Summer has overcome pretty much every adversity she is likely to encounter later in her career as a social worker, and she is still smashing it.

Though Stanford covers tuition and expenses, Summer would really benefit from some new tools to help her succeed. She prefers to write her notes by hand (I support this as it leads to stronger learning!), but I think she would really benefit from a more high-powered tool for this than a standard notebook. I have assembled a high-octane "notes package" for her -- will you consider giving to help with its purchase?

I will cover whatever isn't raised myself, and if we exceed the cost of the iPad, I will get her a nice rolling backpack (she prefers paper books and they will get heavy!). 

Here is some information about why I chose this (very high powered!) option as the goal.
