Sullivan Street bakery has been a staple of New York City since the 90s, bringing high quiality bread to people and businesses. Moreover, its main location in Hell's Kitchen serves as a community hub, and has hosted many an art show, community fundraiser, local knitting club.
Regulars and non-regulars alike will know that Jim, the founder and owner, makes an effort to speak to customers, often engaging in long conversations. He is also a community connector - introducing customers to one another and bringing people together.
Recently this incredible place was struck by a tragic event - a pipe burst, flooding the entire ground floor, causing immense damage, and halting operations for the first time since the bakery was founded. The full extent of the damage is still unknown, and when the bakery can reopen is also up in the air.
Sullivan Street Bakery and its owners have done so much for their community. Let's now support them during this difficult time!
This fundraiser is set up by friends in support of the bakery, for the owners to use at their discretion for staff, repairs, resources etc. It has not been set up by the bakery.
