If you are reading this, you are witnessing someone putting their pride to the side for the sake of wanting to accomplish a fresh start. My name is Sullivan Baker and from August 2023 to the present, I have been tested in so many ways. I hold myself accountable for my station in life to this point. This is not an “excuse”, however, this current stagnant period is truly taking its toll on me.
August 13, 2023, is when my father passed away suddenly and since then my life has been sent spiraling. I understand there is life to live and we have to keep going but I need help. During that period, days after his passing, I was antagonized at my place of employment, T-Mobile, and as a result, terminated. I am a chill person but I believe my circumstances claimed the better of me.
Fast forward to October of 2023, many of you may be aware of my “assault” case that included a 7th-grade young man while I acted as a classroom associate. I did not strike the child nor initiate contact with him. When he became aggressive simply because I asked him to switch tables and complete his work, I restrained him as calmly as possible until relief came from another associate.
Because of the headline and story, I was then terminated from my position from Tennessee College of Applied Technology as I assumed a student support role. The main takeaway from that is, other personnel had occurrences with the law and the charges were even published online just as mine but they still retain employment as they benefit from nepotism as well as favoritism.
That brings me here. During that time I have lost my vehicle, I am struggling to uphold my financial responsibilities due to my lack of transportation and arthritis in joints making it harder to assume the work I would like to complete. I hate to mention this but the vehicle my father promised me has been withheld. It’s getting more and more difficult to start over. Currently, I am awaiting a meeting with HR at my current employer due to a write-up turned argument since my manager notified me of my employment being in jeopardy due to benchmarks not being met. To that, I only asked are we auditing my work and because of his wanting to be correct at all times we were unable to have a productive meeting.
Again, I regret asking for a donation. I even want to promise to pay it back to each individual when possible. There are so many people I owe and all a man has is his word. I just want to get back to life and make something of myself.
Thank you for your time.
