Suleyman came to Canada on April 27, 2023, with hope for a fresh start and the opportunity to build a new life.

On July 16, 2023, he began working at on the night shift. He was working hard, building a future, and starting to feel settled in his new home.
Less than a year later, his life changed completely. In January 2024, Suleyman began feeling very unwell. His vision would suddenly become dark, and he knew that something was seriously wrong. On January 28, 2024, he went to the emergency department at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener. Shortly afterward, he received the devastating diagnosis of leukemia.
He began chemotherapy on February 4, 2024, and spent a significant amount of time in the hospital while undergoing treatment. He continued chemotherapy through April 2024. By July 2024, Suleyman had completed his chemotherapy treatment. His cancer was in remission, and his bone marrow tests came back clear. After everything he had been through, he finally believed he had overcome cancer. He was hopeful that he could return to work, rebuild his life, and move forward.

Sadly, his journey was far from over. In February 2025, the leukemia returned. He began another advanced targeted treatment, determined to continue fighting. In July 2025, he underwent CAR-T cell therapy at the hospital in Hamilton and spent approximately one month in the hospital. His doctors told him that the treatment had approximately a 96% success rate in his case, and initially, it appeared that the treatment had been successful.

Unfortunately, in April 2026, the cancer returned once again. He was given another treatment called Blinatumomab, which he received for approximately three months. In July 2026, doctors discovered that the leukemia had progressed and had formed cancerous masses, including a mass in his lower left abdomen, as well as involvement in his brain. He has recently undergone five sessions of radiation treatment to shrink the masses.

At this point, his doctors have told him that his disease has progressed significantly and that treatment options are extremely limited. He has been told that his condition could become life-threatening within the coming months.

There have been difficult days, but also moments of hope, love, and gratitude. Every appointment, every treatment, and every setback has been another step in a journey that he never chose but has faced with strength and a smile.

Cancer may have changed many things, but it has not changed who Süleyman is. His courage inspires the people around him, and the love and support of family and friends continue to give him strength. This journey is not defined by cancer. It is defined by Süleyman’s strength, his spirit, and his will to keep moving forward—one day at a time.

Now, because of his illness and ongoing medical situation, Suleyman has been unable to work normally and is facing significant financial difficulties. The focus at this point is on his health and getting through each day, but the financial burden has become overwhelming. Any support would make a meaningful difference. Donations will help with living expenses and other costs during this incredibly difficult time, allowing Suleyman and those close to him to focus on what matters most.

If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this GoFundMe with friends, family, and your community would also mean so much and could help reach someone who is able to contribute.

Thank you for taking the time to read Suleyman’s story. Every donation, share, message, prayer, and act of kindness is deeply appreciated as he continues to face this incredibly difficult battle.

We stand beside you, Süleyman. ❤️
