On January 5th Mom (Sue) was involved in a freak accident at home that resulted in 2nd and 3rd degree burns to her chest, neck, and face. She has been in a hospital burn unit since and has had 4 skin graft surgeries, multiple blood transfusions, and is currently working with PT and OT. While she is healing well, there is still a long road left to her recovery. We don’t know when Mom will be able to go home, but we're hopeful she will be out of the hospital soon.

We also don’t know yet if Mom will be able to rehab at home or will need a higher level of care at an inpatient facility.

We are hoping to help Mom and Dad (Stan) ease the financial burden of this surreal and incredibly unexpected accident and the resulting expense of the hospital stay and continuing care, as well as increased daily expenses - such as for the gas Dad is using as he makes the long drive to the hospital nearly daily - and for any as of yet unknown costs that could arise once Mom is in rehab (at home help, medical equipment, prescriptions etc.).
