Hi and thank you first for reading this.
If you don’t know, my mother, Sue Magtalas, went through emergency brain surgery on December 30th. An egg-sized, cancerous tumor was removed from her brain. She went through the surgery okay but has had many complications since then, including a brain bleed that caused a stroke and temporary paralysis (they hope it is temporary) on the left side of her body. She also has short-term memory loss from the surgery (they hope it is temporary). She has been in the hospital for over a month now. Her body is weak, bruised, and fragile. She is unable to walk or even feed herself. Recently, she was transferred to a Skilled Nursing Center, and the hope is to get her physical therapy and continue 24-hour care. They will only keep her for 2 weeks covered by insurance. Her recovery will be long and slow but we are very hopeful.
The bad news is that insurance does not cover some of the things that she desperately needs now and in the future. Our hope is to get any help for some of these costs.
My mom is the best. She has always been so kind and helpful to many. She lost my dad a few years ago, and her life has not been the same since.
If you can’t donate, no worries. Please keep her in your prayers.
