On Sunday, December 7th around 9 am, Sue Johnson heard a giant explosion from the condo unit next door. Sue lives in a 4-unit condo section in Middleboro, Massachusetts. She opened her front door to the sounds of screaming and the smell of smoke. The unit next door was on fire, and it was quickly spreading to the rest of the units. Thankfully, she was able to get outside to safety and was not injured in the process, but unfortunately, the same could not be said for the rest of the condo unit. Everything was lost. Thankfully, the brave firefighters from the surrounding towns, with the help of the first responders, were able to put out the flames. Unfortunately there was too much smoke and water damage and most of her belongings were lost. At this time, it looks like the whole 4-condo unit will have to be ripped down to studs and rebuilt. This will be a long, stressful process to begin for Sue. Especially this time of the year with holidays and the wintery weather will not make it easy.

Sue Johnson is a loving mother, grandmother, and cousin. She has been a part of the Lakeville/Middleboro community for decades. She recently lost her husband and soulmate, Bill Johnson, who she was with for 40 years and had a love-filled life with, living in East Bridgewater, Lakeville, and most recently this home in Middleboro. She is a very talented stained glass artist and has had a full-time booth at King Richard's Fair annually. She thoroughly enjoys dressing up in medieval dresses and making beautiful stained glass dragons and other ornaments, as well as jewelry and other pieces of art. She volunteers as a medical driver for Lakeville Senior Center. She also loves animals and often nurtures stray animals and helps find them new homes. Her number one priority is her family, and she takes great pride in their accomplishments and is always there for them when they need it!

The family and Sue are so grateful to see the outpouring of kindness and support already from family, friends, and the community. It is never easy losing all of your possessions that have so many memories attached, but the generosity of everyone in this time of need has surely shown that she is not in this alone. Anything is appreciated, and words cannot describe how appreciative and touched Sue and the whole family are for your generosity. Wishing everyone a very safe and happy holiday season this year! God bless!
