Support Sue Harris's Stroke Recovery Journey

Donation protected
Sue Harris is a church member at St. John's and on staff at the school. We are asking for financial help for Sue at this time. This is Sue's story she wants to share with you.

May 15, 2024 started out as any normal day..I woke up at 4:30 AM, had my coffee, did my devotions and prayer time and got ready for work. I got to work at 6:30 AM and was just taking the kids outside to play during morning daycare, and thankfully, Ms. Kim was paying attention to me and noticed that I wasn’t acting like my normal self and she kept asking me if I was OK and I told her I was feeling a little lightheaded that morning and then a little later I started to have stroke like symptoms on my left side, and my speech was slurred and thankfully the actions of my coworkers, Ms Kim had someone get Mr. Puckett who helped me inside and 911 was called. An ambulance came for me and that began this long haul that I’ve been going through since May. I had a massive stroke on the right side of my brain which has left my left side, paralyzed, partially paralyzed since that time. I spent two weeks in the hospital and then went to a rehab facility for two weeks, and then ended up back in the hospital because I have blood clots in my left leg and had to have an IVC filter put in. Since that time I have been unable to work. I have not yet begun to collect my disability. They’re telling me 4 to 6 months before I leave and start since I left the rehab in July. I’ve been living with my younger sister and her husband in Menifee and she has been caring for me, taking me to doctors appointments and the physical therapy and they have asked nothing from me and with no income I have been unable to even help sustain myself by helping with groceries or utilities. It’s difficult for me to ask for help because I’m not used to having to rely on anyone else to take care of me, I miss being at school with the kids and I miss my coworkers. Hopefully some are able to help me with this GoFundMe account. I appreciate it beyond anything I could tell you God bless each and everyone of you. I hope to be back soon.
My family has been absolutely amazing through this entire endeavor. My sisters have been at the hospital or the rehab center every single day and my younger sister has been taking care of me morning noon and night at her home. I want you to know I am grateful for your prayers, grateful to the children for the cards and pictures that they sent me, and grateful for my friends that have been consistent visiting me and praying for me. I will never forget your faithfulness and being Jesus’ hands and feet through this for me.
