Hi, I’m Kate. My sister Sue has been impacted by a fire in her apartment complex in Monterey and is just not sure if she’ll be able to return.

She was able to get herself to safety early in the morning in her pajamas, flip-flops, and luckily grabbed her keys, so she’s been able to get her car. But really, she has little else.

I am truly amazed by Sue’s her resilience and her attitude of gratitude. She shared with me that on the morning of the fire after being emergency. personnel woke her up from a deep sleep, she huddled under a foil blanket for about two hours with another resident, a 92 year old woman. They sat on the curb and watched as. The fireman attended the fire.
