Linah, Islam, and Reham were not fortunate enough to receive any scholarships or assistance from these entities or charity organisations.
How the fund will be used:
As a consequence of the civil war in Sudan and our current displacement, we as families lack the financial means to support them in pursuing these exceptional educational opportunities.
All three - Mariam, Linah, and Islam - received opportunities to study at the University of Oxford in December 2023, just three months after their displacement from Sudan due to the war. They were profoundly affected by the trauma of war and the hardships of displacement from Sudan to Ethiopia, enduring dangers like gunfire and artillery and aerial bombardment, even within Ethiopian territory, as they were stranded for 10 days in the Ethiopian-Sudanese border region, Gondar, due to the civil war in Ethiopia.
As a result of these brutal circumstances, they were unable to apply for the University of Oxford scholarships or prepare for the interview, and they lost that opportunity.
Nonetheless, these harsh conditions and immense suffering did not deter them from applying for and securing all the above-mentioned remarkable opportunities, which will enable them to lead dignified lives and continue their studies and academic pursuits.
I kindly request your financial contribution and that you share this campaign with your network.
We are sincerely grateful for your support. Thank you.
