As a long time, small business in the Alexandria and Arlington communities we are grateful for our students and family who continue to support us during this time. We are excited to bring you virtual mat classes so our authentic Pilates community can still work out.
Studio Body logic has been teaching authentic Pilates in Arlington since 1996 and DelRay Alexandria since 2003. We offer 5 levels of mat classes, springs classes, and small group and private apparatus lessons. Authentic Pilates is for everyone! Our youngest student is 14 and our oldest 90.
Our director Karen Garcia was trained and certified in 1996 under Manhattan-based Romana Kryzanowska, a Joseph Pilates protégé, Karen is one of a handful of second generation Pilates instructors in the world.
As you know, COVID-19 has caused Pilates and other studios across the country to shut down, losing revenue from classes, and leaving in its wake an uncertainty of when we'll be able to open again. We have some online mat classes. However, our main souce of revenue, from apparatus lessons and springs classes, cannot be taught online since students do not have apparatus in their homes.
We are asking your financial help to get us though this difficult and unprecedented time. It is the only way we will be able to return to normal operations once this virus has been contained.
All funds will go toward the operations of our small business to help pay our required obligations such as rent, payroll, and ongoing monthly expenses. While we are applying for SBA loan's the system is overwhelmed and are not sure if/when they will come. We want to maintain the physical studio so it will be here for our community to continue enjoying in the future. We understand many are in difficult situations and appreciate any size donations.
