Because We Care Foundation, Inc. was created by the McMillan sisters, who were born and raised in Grenada, a small island in the Caribbean. We attended primary and secondary school there before relocating to America. Now as adults, we frequently visit our native island.

During a 2019 trip to Grenada, we participated in the Read Across Grenada program. After reading to the students, we noticed at lunchtime only some students were provided food. Upon further inquiry, we learned that lunch is only provided to the students who could pay a fee. We decided to create the Because We Care Foundation, Inc. to supplement the feeding program by providing assistance where needed.

The foundation is raising $40,000 to provide much needed kitchen equipment and additional supplies for the students.

A donor has generously provided a power washer to a primary school through our organization and we want to continue providing support. Any amount you are able to contribute is greatly appreciated. If you are not able to donate at this time, please share with your friends and family. Thank you!
