Need Some Good Luck?
Hello! We are Matthew Mingoia, Emma Fletcher, Eden Burch, Isabella Bento, & Ruby Zuckerman. We are Digital Media Production majors at SUNY New Paltz and are currently enrolled in our Senior Filmmaking Capstone. We’re excited to create our horror short film, a project born from four years of hard work and passion for storytelling. But we need your support to bring it to life!
Our narrative short film, THE UNLUCKY CHARM, follows Sophie, a struggling college student. Desperate for a change in her crumbling life, Sophie buys a “good luck” doll that arrives twisted and deformed — a grim mockery of what was promised. As her world unravels in a haze of paranoia and addiction, Sophie becomes convinced the doll is orchestrating her suffering… but is it truly cursed, or is her fragile mind spiraling into madness?
Your support is key to bringing our vision to life. As part of our capstone, the funds raised will go directly toward supporting our actors, props, locations, and equipment. With your donations, we can deliver a high-quality production, gain valuable filmmaking experience, and most importantly, share a powerful story that deserves to be told.
Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to making this film a reality—and we can’t wait to share this project with you. Your support truly makes a difference!
