Support Stuart's Recovery from Emergency Surgery

Last week Stuart Smith unexpectedly needed emergency gallbladder surgery, which has been complicated by pre-existing health conditions that may have contributed to misdiagnoses earlier in his life. Although this is a common operation his experience was anything but. The doctors shared that it was at the point of life or death.

He had pre-existing medical conditions including, diabetes, fibromyalgia and more that unfortunately affect his recovery process differently than most. As a self-employed individual, he relies on Medicare, but the extensive medical bills far surpass what it covers.

Due to unexpected complications and his need for a longer recovery period, Stu will be unable to work, creating a significant financial strain on him and his loved ones who wish to help. Working for a contractor or as a handy man make it impossible for him to match his previous hours of paid work through the rest of the year due to physical limitations.

We're reaching out to our community for support to help provide some financial relief during this challenging time. You need to know: he is okay and got the surgeries he needed, received the insulin/medication he needed for his extended stay (so thankful for local doctors available on a whim), has follow up appointments scheduled for monitoring, and then finally the extra care from family members before he travels back home to CA. Luckily he's been staying in Utah so his grandson and nephew were able to get him to the hospital just in time. As well as his daughter who stayed in the hospital for multiple days.
