We’re raising funds to help Stryder get a dedicated communication device: an iPad with the TouchChat Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) app. This is not for entertainment or screen time — it’s a communication tool that gives Stryder consistent access to functional language throughout the day.
Stryder has been working hard at home with an AAC specialist once a week, building skills like requesting, making choices, participating in routines, and expressing needs more independently. The challenge is that without a device available all the time, it’s difficult to turn those therapy skills into real-life communication. AAC works best when it’s accessible across everyday moments — meals, play, transitions, and learning — not only during sessions.
A dedicated iPad with TouchChat would allow Stryder to:
• communicate wants, needs, and feelings more effectively
• reduce frustration and communication breakdowns
• participate more fully in daily routines and learning
• practice consistently between weekly AAC sessions
• build independence and confidence using his “voice”
Funds raised will go directly toward:
• an iPad dedicated for AAC use
• TouchChat AAC app/license
• a protective case (and any needed accessories like a strap/mount)
Every donation — and every share — helps provide reliable access to communication. Thank you for supporting Stryder’s ability to connect with the people and world around him.
With gratitude,
Alexandra Davis (mama)
