I'm Matt McCoy, a 14-year stroke survivor. In early 2010, my life was turned upside down when I had a major stroke. In an instant, I went from a very active 35-year-old to a person with minimal use of my left side, distorted vision in my right eye, and forced me to rely on a feeding tube. I spent nearly a month in rehab and used a walker for mobility when I left.

The Aftermath:

Leaving rehab, I faced a mountain of challenges. On top of the physical and mental challenges, I was not able to drive or work. I lived alone, so basic resources like food and transportation were often challenging or expensive to acquire. All of these factors combined led to losing my job and home. My stroke left me trapped, isolated, and hopeless.Thankfully, my parents became my heroes, providing the support I needed to slowly rebuild.

But Many Aren't So Lucky

Many stroke survivors and caregivers lack the support system I had. This campaign aims to change that.

Our Mission:

We're raising $12,000 to empower stroke survivors as they transition home. These funds will directly support:

One-on-One Coaching: Building personalized routines and tackling daily challenges.

Resource Connection: Connecting survivors with vital community services.

Medical Advocacy: Serve as a medium between stroke survivors and medical professionals to help communicate needs and relay questions.

Mental Health Support: Addressing the emotional toll of stroke recovery for survivors and caregivers in one to one sessions as well as group sessions.

Home Modifications: Making homes safer and more accessible.

Educational Programs: Empowering survivors and their caregivers to manage stroke's impact.
